Big Chef, San Mai wrought iron and 1084
Wrought iron is a statement. Valuing the past, recognizing hand made unique steel. No piece is the same. This came from a wagon wheel from the South Island of New Zealand. Likely bought to New Zealand by an early settler in to 1850s hoping for a better life in a new land. I hope they found it and this wagon had a useful life before coming this knife. Handle is magnolia with a G10 and copper spacer. This is a big chef, 60mm at the heel and about 10” long.
